William “Bill” Scott Roh

November 19, 1954 - August 28, 2017 With much sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, father, brother and grandfather, William “Bill” Scott Roh, after a short battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jack F. Roh and two stepfathers, Nick Trevisco and Edwin Polkowski. He will be lovingly remembered by his children and grandchildren, Shannon (Roh) and Alex Esselink [Haley, Brooke], Jason and Ashley Roh [Landen, Breslynn]; mother, Norrine (Roh) Polkowski; brother, Jack F. and Joann Roh, Robert R. and Michelle Roh, Thomas J. and Debra Roh; his former wife, Karen (Roh) Buchanan; and many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Brandon Roh.  Bill was in construction for over 40 years and spent the last 30 years as the lead superintendent at Pioneer Construction, running high profile projects in downtown Grand Rapids, such as the award winning GVSU Richard M. DeVos center.  He was known for his intelligence, with a direct, commanding personality and a quick wit. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, August 30, from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, August 31, from 2-4 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  According to his wishes, no funeral service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Golden G.
