Snyder, William "Bill" G. William “Bill” G. Snyder, age 65, of Jenison, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Esther Snyder; and sister-in-law, Chris Serba. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Marlene; children, Pam and Ryan Volovlek, Steve and Kari Snyder, Laura and Bill Bresson; grandchildren, Blake, Rieley, Sonia, Morgan, Ava, Zoe, and Mary; stepmother, Esther Snyder; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob Serba, Ray and Julie Watkoski, John and Dana Watkoski, Rita and Ed Rahe, Nettie and Tony Leale. Bill loved spending time with his family and dear friends, including, Pam and Doug Leatherman, and Marlene Shea. He had a fantastic sense of humor and was known for his skills as a writer. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus, proudly served his country in the Army Reserves, and retired from Consumer’s Energy after 37 years of service. He was a huge University of Michigan fan, but would root for the Spartans when the Wolverines were not playing them. Bill enjoyed polka music, big band, and Frank Sinatra. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday at Holy Redeemer Parish, 2700 Baldwin Street, Jenison, with Fr. Ronald Hutchinson Celebrant. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive and Saturday from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church.
