Walter VanKlompenberg

Walter VanKlompenberg, age 81, of Atlantic Mine, formerly of Grandville, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Walter Worked for many years for Michigan Natural Storage until his retirement. He enjoyed the simple things in life like being outdoors camping and going out to breakfast. The family would like to thank the Omega House in Houghton, Michigan and Baraga County Home Care and Hospice for their loving and tender care for Walter these last few days. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sharon; and sisters, Janice, Shirley, and Mary. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his children, Tim and Amy VanKlompenberg, Tom and Lara VanKlompenberg, Doug and Nicole VanKlompenberg, Dawn Andriessen; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family Monday, November 17, 2025, from 1-3 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Omega House.
