Marc Frederick Goorhouse, age 52, of Byron Center, was called to his heavenly home on Monday, April 20, 2026.
He was the proud owner of County-Line Excavating for many years, known not only for his strong work ethic but for the way he treated people—with a huge heart and a willingness to help anyone in need. Generous with his time, he formed lasting friendships wherever he went, the kind of person you only had to meet once to never forget. He spent countless hours working and caring for his farm, and when he was not busy, he found joy in hunting and relaxing at their home up north.
Marc will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 29 years, Brenda (Koetje); children, Taylor and Matt Miedema, Trent and Trista Goorhouse, Trista Goorhouse, Tori Goorhouse; his grandchildren, Jesse, and Caroline Miedema; parents, Fred and Barb Goorhouse; his parents-in-law, Ike and Carolyn Koetje; sister, Mindy Goorhouse; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Julie and Chris Boetsma, Sue and Jeff Glashower, Randy and Katie Koetje, Gwen Chalker; several loving nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Goorhouse.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Fellowship Church, 6610 36th Ave. Hudsonville with Pastor Shawn Hulst officiating. Burial will take place at Star Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday, April 28 from 5-8 p.m. at the church and also on Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. (Please use doors A, C, or D).
