Vivian Foster, age 91, of Grandville, passed away into the arms of her Lord surrounded by her family on Monday, July 20, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Fred Foster, Jr.; brother, George Holzapfel; and sister, Lillian Zuidema. Vivian was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family. Her strong work ethic and determination was evident to all who knew her. She worked at the Rainbow Grill in Grandville for over 20 years, establishing many friendships with customers and co-workers. Vivian loved spending time outdoors, whether it was working in her beautiful gardens or spending time at the family cottage fishing. Most recently, she cherished the time spent with her friends from church. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Fred Foster III and Glenda, Jim and Karen Foster, Dan and Barbara Foster, Debra and Thomas Smigiel, Bob and Debra Foster; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service to celebrate Vivian’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 29, at 11 am at Grandville Cemetery with Chaplain Caleb Walcott officiating. Because the service will be outdoors, family and friends are encouraged to bring a chair for the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff and caregivers of Faith Hospice and Green Acres Assisted Living for the love and compassionate care given to Vivian.
