Virginia Marlette

Virginia Marlette, age 91, of Kentwood, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Virginia often referred to herself as “Ginny Marlette” later in life. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edward H. Marlette; parents, Fred E. Miller and Lousia Steffes Miller; and brothers, Arthur (Delores) Miller and Matthew (Marie) Miller. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Todd (Tammy) Marlette; grandchildren, Zachary and Gianna; nephews, Gary (Kathy) Miller, Ronnie (Molly) Miller; brother-in-law, Patrick (Nancy) Marlette; and close friend, Telesa (Curtis) Taylor. Ginny had fond memories of her childhood in Caledonia, Michigan, earning her brand-new 1950’s Ford convertible, and owning the “Country Side Inn” in North Dorr, Michigan. She worked as head of accounting at The Dexter Lock Company, and also at Valley Wood Middle School for many years. She enjoyed camping at Paradise Cove in Sand Lake, spending time at her cottage in Trufant, Michigan, and sharing her chair with her lap dogs (Spencer & Sadie) while playing Candy Crush and watching her shows. She also enjoyed winters in Florida with her husband. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1 at MKD Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Peter Vu presiding. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Kentwood, MI.
