Virginia Mae Schollaart

Virginia Mae Schollaart, age 96, of Grand Rapids, peacefully entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Virginia was known for her kind spirit and servant’s heart, always placing others before herself. A lifelong member of Third Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, Virginia faithfully served her church community in many ways, including sharing her musical talents by playing piano during worship services. Her deep love for Jesus and her family was evident to all who knew her. Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Edwin Schollaart. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her children: Marlynn (Doug) DeBlaay, Brad (Linda) Schollaart, and Ron (Tammy) Schollaart; her grandchildren: Taryn (Mike) Brenneman, Carri (Lee) Bronkema, Jaime (Brandon) Mueller, Lyndsey (Nick) Friedt, Dan (Elizabeth) Schollaart, Kristi (Jon) Lewis, Tim Schollaart, Jeff Schollaart, Katie Schollaart, Kyle (Amanda) Schollaart, and Chad Schollaart (Chrissie Oken); her 29 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Bengelink; and many cherished nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Third Reformed Church, 2060 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, with Rev. Jeffrey Petersen officiating. Family and friends may greet the family from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. A private family graveside service was held at Rosedale Memorial Park Cemetery.
