Vina Mae Helder

Vina Mae (Zandbergen) Helder, age 86, of Grandville, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles “Chuck” Helder; her son, Charles; sisters and brothers, Margaret Strohl, Bonita Zandbergen, Nelva Conser, Verna North, Howard Zandbergen, Rose Zandbergen and Eugene Zandbergen.  She will be dearly missed by her children, Barb and Woodie Gibson, Pat Helder, David and Lori Helder, Tom Helder; daughter-in-law, Vicki Helder; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Don and Carol Zandbergen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Audrey and Chuck Jansen, Karen DeVos, Sue and Tom Goliber; several nieces, nephews.  Vina met her husband, Charles, at Associated Truck Lines and married soon after meeting.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and foster mom.  Vina fostered many infants with loving care.  She could often be seen riding the motorcycle with Chuck.  She was devoted to her family and loved to bake cookies for them.  Her family obviously loved her cookies because she would often have to hide them so they would not be eaten all at once.  A memorial service will be held on Friday 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to First Reformed Church of Grandville or Faith Hospice.
