Vera Jane “V.J.” (Stiff) Bartz

Vera Jane “V.J.” (Stiff) Bartz, age 97, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, March 14, 2016.  V.J. was much loved by everyone she knew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton; daughter, Gloria Brander; granddaughter, Jenna Bartz; brothers-in-law, Jack Simons, and Bill Hoag; and nephew, Michael Simons. She will be missed everyday by her children, George Brander, Michael and Linda Bartz, Patrick Bartz, Russell and Maureen Bartz, David Bartz, Meribeth and Phil Hiestand; 9 grandchildren, Lisa and Tim Holland, Michelle and Jeremy Metiva, Steve and Amber Brander, Michael Bartz Jr., Kristen Bartz, Alexis and Matt Burkett, Mallory Bartz, Alex and Lindsey Hiestand, and Shelby Hiestand; 10 great grandchildren, Addyson, Maguire, Reed, Austin, Dillon, Ava, Macy, Harper, Aiden, and Cannon; sister-in-law, Virginia Hoag; and niece, Bonnie Simons.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 18, at  11 AM at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2700 Baldwin Street, Jenison.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive SW.
