Valorae Gemmen

Valorae Gemmen, age 62, of Hudsonville, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 17, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Sjoerdsma; and her brothers-in-law, Harold Krol, and Rick Shepard.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Rebecca and Kevin Fitton, Denny Gemmen Jr.; grandchildren, Kim Gemmen, Leo Gemmen, Naomi Fitton, Adelaide Fitton; mother, Kay and Nelson Rotman; the father of her children, Dennis Gemmen Sr.; sisters, Vonda and Dave VanBeek, Vicki and Brad Miller; and many nieces and nephews.  Valorae was an animal lover with a special passion for her Newfies, Stella and Elyn.  She was also an avid gardener, loved sewing, making crafts, volunteering at Revive Resale Shop and teaching Sunday School at her church, Rusk CRC.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Rusk Christian Reformed Church, 10354 92nd Ave., Allendale, with Rev. Mark Neymeiyer officiating.  Interment will be held at Rusk Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to South Central Newfoundland Rescue or Revive Resale Store.
