Valerie Ann Smalley

Valerie A. Smalley, age 88, of Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday July 3, 2025.  She was a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.  Valerie was a cosmetologist, enjoyed sewing and knitting gifts for family friends and NICU babies.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore; daughter, Simone; son, Scott Smalley.  She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Shannon Smalley; her granddaughters, Michelle Drake, Jackie Smalley, Bobby (Michael) Edie, Shannon Smalley; grandson, Rex Smalley; 12 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.  Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 14 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming with Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiating.   Family and friends can meet with the family one hour prior to the service.  A luncheon will be held at Calvary Christian Reformed Church, 3500 Byron Center Avenue, Wyoming.   Burial will be held at Dickson Cemetery in Brethern, MI on Friday, August 15 at 11am.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
