Tye Kim

Tye Kim “Tae Choon Kim”, age 87, of Jenison, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.  He will be dearly missed by his wife of 56 years, Katherine Kim; and sister, Helen Choi. Tye graduated from the Seoul National University where he majored in Finance.  He received his Ph.D. in Finance from The Ohio State University. From there, Tye went on to teach Finance at The University of Memphis, and later retired from Grand Valley State University.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, MI with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Finance Department Faculty Endowed Scholarship Fund at Grand Valley State University.
