Troy Veenstra

Troy Veenstra, age 43, of Wyoming left this earthly life on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Troy will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Roxanne and Jim Guild; siblings, Eric, Laura, Alisha Veenstra, Tyler Guild; niece, Emilee Veenstra; aunts and uncles, Joyce Veenstra, Sharon Evans, Linda and Ron Irons, Peggy Levett, Paula Dryden; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his dad, Kenneth; grandparents, Clarence and Mildreth Levett, Kenneth and Laverne Veenstra; and cousin, Jeff Dryden. Troy went back to school to study law at Davenport where he was on the Dean’s List for four years. This led him to volunteer for the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) where he enjoyed helping children. He was an author who truly enjoyed writing with his two most popular books being, Titanic: Echo of the Dying Confession and The Murder of Jeffrey Dryden: The Grim Truth Surrounding Male Domestic Abuse. In 2013, he won second place for best author from fiction4all.com. Troy also enjoyed his time coaching soccer for the City of Wyoming. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to CASA.
