
Thomas David Kossack, age 74, of Wyoming, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023. Tom was born in South Bend, Indiana, to Mary Jane Oliver and Joseph Kossack. After graduating highschool, he joined the U.S. Navy and served as a mechanic on the USS Bonhomme Richard Aircraft Carrier in both San Diego and Vietnam. After his time in the service, he graduated with an Engineering Degree from Purdue University. Tom met his wife, Michele, and they were married in 1974 and had their son, Michael. Together with his family, they were avid campers and enjoyed traveling. He worked as an engineer in the 1980’s for American Electric Power at the DC Cook Nuclear Power Plant. Tom enjoyed anything mechanical, working with his hands on many projects, and loved cars and racing. He will be greatly missed for his gentle spirit, sense of humor, friendship and love for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Jane Kossack. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Michele Kossack; son, Michael (Amanda) Kossack; grandchildren, Addisen Cook and Drew Cook; niece and nephew, Rubina and Suniel Veerakone; special friends, Maria (Gnani) Veerakone. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from noon-1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Brain Injury Association of Michigan.
