
Thomas Frederick Matice, age 78, of Wyoming, was taken into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carol. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Tim (Kristine Howard) Matice, Robin (Jeff) Butzer, Christine (Tom) Bischoff, Scott (Melissa) Matice; grandchildren, Chelsea (Frank) Bastien, Emily (Fred) Bennett, Lauren (Dallas Johnston) Butzer, Hayley, Hannah Butzer, Calvin (Jenifer Fitzgerald) Bischoff, Nicholas Bischoff, Madeline and Simone Matice; great grandchildren, Nora, Scarlett, Vivian Bastien, Brooks, Maverick Bennett; brothers, John Matice, Mike Matice, Dennis Matice; sister, Sue (Lee) Williams; sister-in-law, Marcia Manke; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; dear friends, Mike (Marge) Bush, John (Linda) Buckley, Mary Kay Goodrich. Tom was a warm, caring, loving husband, father and grandfather who dearly loved his grandchildren and attended as many of their events as he could. Tom was a proud Lee High School Rebel, who met Carol at a Lee High dance and told his friend Buckley that he was going to marry her. He loved to coach baseball and basketball at St. John Vianney parish. He worked for many years as a sales manager in the grocery and chemical industries. He was a devoted family man who loved to play cards and even taught his grandchildren the game of poker. Tom had a servant’s heart and volunteered at the Knights of Columbus and the Brian Bush Memorial events. He was a devout Catholic and helped out at many events at St. John Vianney. He never complained about his medical adversities or illnesses. He loved going to Gulf Shores, AL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Rev. John Vallier presiding. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 9 - 11 am at church. A private family burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
