Thomas E. Curtis, beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 73. A lifelong West Michigan resident, Tom lived a life rooted in Christian faith, quiet generosity, and a deep love for his family.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Tom built a career he was truly proud of, founding Curtis Products Group - a family business he owned and operated for more than 20 years. The sound of WCSG, his favorite Christian radio station, filled his shop every day - a small but telling reflection of the faith that shaped everything he did. Tom was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and that faith was the steady foundation beneath all he was.
In 2002, Tom married the love of his life, Donna Dobrowolski, and together they made their home in Wayland, Michigan, building a life full of warmth, laughter, and shared faith. Their song - “Come Jesus Come” - was more than a favorite hymn; it was a testament to the hope they carried together.
A man who was always busy and loved to work, Tom also made time for the things he enjoyed - fishing, traveling, and trying his luck at Keno. He was a passionate and accomplished bowler, competing in leagues for many years and achieving the rare milestone of bowling a perfect 300 game.
Tom was known for his extraordinary generosity - always giving, always quietly. He never sought recognition or thanks. Those touched by his kindness often did not know the full extent of it. He simply loved people and showed it in the ways he knew best.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Donna of Wayland, MI; his three sons, Kevin Curtis (wife: Sheyla; son: Andy), David Curtis (wife: Ciera; daughters: Audrey and Lillian), and Gregory Curtis (wife: Deanna; daughter: Penelope); his stepchildren, Lisa Swihart (husband: Steve; sons: William and Jackson; great-grandson: Theodore "Teddy"), Sarah Mildenberg (daughters: Elle, Frances, and son, Oliver), and Emily Henry (spouse: Nova; son: Elijah); special friend, Rick Finkbeiner; and many extended family members and cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ruth (Cadwell) Curtis; sister, Beverly Meade; and brothers, Edward Curtis and David Curtis.
Visitation will be held at 10 am on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, followed by a memorial service at 11 am. Burial will take place at Parkville Cemetery, 20541 Moorepark Rd., Parkville, MI 49093. Those wishing to honor Tom’s memory may contribute to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Faith Hospice.
