Thomas Alan Hielkema

Thomas Alan Hielkema, age 69, of Middleville, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 and is now free from pain. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Anno and Lois. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna; children, Scott Hielkema (Julie and daughter Brianna), Michele and Brent Dietiker; sisters, Nancy Hielkema, Carol and Doug Watkins; nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army in Vietnam. Tom loved his family, the outdoors and Woodland Drive-In Church. Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 25 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, with Pastor Clyde Richardson officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 12:30 - 2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project.
