Terry Troupe, Sr.

Terry Lee Troupe Sr, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 17, 2021. He was born April 21, 1950 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to Robert Edward Troupe and Lillie Mae (Reese) Troupe. He resided in Mississippi until 1967 when he moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Central High School and then went on to earn an associate degree at Davenport College. In 1970, he married Pearline Stewart. To this union, two children were born. Terry served 2 years in the Army. He was employed at Kellogg’s/Keebler’s Bakery for 40 years. He founded Buffalo Soldiers MC in 1981 and continued as National President for the remainder of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edward Troupe and Lillie Mae (Reese) Troupe; brother, Willie Lee Troupe and grandson, Mykal Ninuwa Brandt-Troupe. He is survived by his loving wife, Pearline (Stewart) Troupe; son, Terry Lee Troupe Jr; daughter, Paulette (Dwayne) Abbey all of Atlanta, Georgia; four sisters, Robbie (Houston) Grear and Mary French of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mae Francis Goree and Wilma Jean Troupe Howell of Atlanta Georgia; three granddaughters, Aisha (Ryan)McGhee-Coleman, Aliya Abbey, Aniya Abbey; three great grandchildren, Tristen McGhee-Coleman, Alijah McGhee-Coleman and Ryanne (JuJu) McGhee-Coleman of Augusta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

Terry is also known as “3 Wheeler”. His love was for his family, biker family and motorcycles. He always wanted the best for people and gave unselfishly. He had a true passion for riding and reconstructing his bikes. He enjoyed outdoors and traveling to Georgia 2-3 times a year.

Funeral service honoring and celebrating his life will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, December 28th at True Light Baptist Church, 900 Thomas St SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49506 with family hour from 11am-12 pm. The family will greet relatives and friends for visitation on Monday, December 27th from 2-6 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (MKD), 4646 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood MI 49508. In lieu of flowers, please consider donation to the United Negro College Fund. Interment will be on January 8, 2022, at 12pm at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, Marietta GA.
