Felicia Boomstra

Felicia Rae Boomstra, of Kentwood, Michigan, peacefully passed away at home on July 21, 2026, from pulmonary fibrosis and metastatic breast cancer. She was born on September 16, 1957, to Robert and Laura Boomstra in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

She is survived by her children, Valerie (Thomas) Slager and Christopher (Jordyn) Salsbury; her grandson, Liam Slager; and her siblings, David (Terri) Boomstra, Vona (Mark) Matus, and Larry (Jane) Boomstra. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce; her parents, Robert and Laura; her nephew, Evan; and her niece, Amy.

Felicia was a loving mother and grandmother, finding her greatest joy in becoming a grandmother. She could often be found lost in a good book, piecing together puzzles, or happily tasting whatever delicious creations her children cooked up for her. She had a curious spirit and loved chasing new experiences, but she was equally happy staying in to watch Moana and Frozen—movies she cherished because they reminded her of Liam.

The family is hosting a celebration of life on August 4 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bay Pointe Inn. The family would love for you to wear yellow or orange. The family would appreciate donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
