Ted Smith

Ted Smith, age 72, of Byron Center, lost his courageous battle to cancer on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He ran into the arms of his Savior and mom, Lorraine, who died when he was 17 years old. He lovingly leaves his wife of 50 years, Noele; sons: Neal (Christy) Smith, Darrin Smith; grandchildren: Sydnie (Alex) Lasher, Tyson Smith and Reagan Smith. Ted was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine, and twin Aunt, Lorretta; sister, Delores Linderman and nephew, Mark Linderman. Ted faithfully worked at Steelcase for 28 years and Weller Truck for 19 years. He also was a proud Army veteran. He graduated from Catholic Central in 1969 and attended Junior College with high honors. Ted loved his daily neighborhood “strolls” and connecting with old friends. He loved grooming his yard and always took pride with every vehicle he owned. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of his life will be held. We wish to thank Faith Hospice and Trillium Woods for their outstanding loving care, along with all of his friends and relatives who reached out.
