Suzanne Kay Borrello

Suzanne Borrello, age 85, of  Byron Center, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Monday, November 10, 2025. Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. For more than 35 years, she faithfully supported her husband, Louis, through countless Little League seasons as he umpired many games. Sue was a selfless and supportive woman who found joy in caring for others. She loved knitting and crocheting, and took great pride in cooking meals for her family and hosting dinners where everyone could gather together. Family meant everything to her—she never missed a chance to attend her loved ones’ sporting events and celebrate their accomplishments. Sue worked for over 28 years at McDonald’s, where she was known for her dedication and kind spirit. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, tending to the beauty. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Greta and Jon Hooker; brother Larry Hooker; sister-in-law, Norma Sommers. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Louis “Bud” Borrello; children, Beth Marsh, Dan and Jen Borrello, Stasi and Don Conyers, Mike and Lesa Borrello; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry and Sharon Hooker; sisters-in-law, Donna Hooker, Palma and John Schafer; brothers-in-law, Fred and Elise Borrello, Terry Sommers; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park Avenue SW, Wyoming with Rev. John Vallier officiating. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Gilda's Club.
