Steven James Donaghy

Steven James Donaghy, age 65, passed away on May 4, 2026 after a hard fought, courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 16, 1961, Steven lived a life marked by strength, dedication, and quiet impact on those around him. 

Steven will be remembered for his character, his presence, and the way he showed up for the people in his life. Whether through his work, his friendships, or time spent with loved ones, he left a lasting impression that will not be forgotten. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Egerer, and his father, Thomas Donaghy. 

Steven is survived by his beloved wife, Sara Donaghy, and his children: Brandon (Erika) Donaghy, Kanina (Joe) Palmateer, Kyra Vinson, and Elena (Andrew Belovich) Gerwin. He was a proud grandfather to Gage Palmateer, Avery Palmateer, Taylor Donaghy, and Kadyn Palmateer, who brought great joy to his life. We also can’t forget his sweet grandpups: Finnegan and Sutton Betty. He is also survived by his brothers: Scott (Pat) Donaghy, John (Sherry) Donaghy, and Eric (Elizabeth) Donaghy, along with many extended family members and loved ones who will cherish his memory. 

To know Steve is to love Steve. He loved with his whole heart. Please help us celebrate the life of a truly amazing man that brought a light to all of our lives. 

Visitation will be on Friday May 8, 2026 at 1 p.m. followed by a 2 p.m. memorial service at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 616 E Main St SE, Caledonia, MI 49316.
