Stephan Lawrence Shepard, age 74, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Stephan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love for his family knew no limits. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and later dedicated over 30 years of his life to working at Meijer, where he took great pride in serving his community. A talented artist, Stephan had a passion for stained glass and landscape painting, creating many pieces that he was proud to share and sell. He found joy in his creativity and loved expressing himself through art. Stephan's heart was always with his family. He adored his children and cherished a home filled with their laughter and love. He was a steady provider, a constant source of support, and always there when you needed him. His playful spirit shone through in his love for games—especially video games—which he often enjoyed with the kids. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. He was preceded in death by stepbrother-in-law, Ron Turner. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Shepard; children, Amy and Jimmy Webb, Robert and Lisa Wilson, Tanith Michelle and Nathan Poort, Paul Shepard, Matthew and Frances Shepard; Dathan Shepard; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren plus one on the way; sister, Teressa Shepard; stepsisters and stepbrothers, Connie and Don Bloom, Dawn Turner, Brian and Patricia Shepard, Mike and Carol Johnson, Denice and John Damerow, Wendy Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor John Dubois officiating.
