
Stanley Hale Barnes peacefully departed this earth to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 15, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Stan was born in 1942 and grew up in Maplewood, MO. He attended the University of Missouri and worked in news, entertainment, marketing, sales, training and consulting. He also authored two books about his lifetime adventures. Stan will always be remembered for his storytelling, sense of humor, crazy plans and his love for others. He enjoyed camping, sports and community theater (most memorable role was Lieutenant Shrank in West Side Story.) Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Judith A. Barnes. Also survived by his daughters, Debbie (Walter) Patton, Kimberly Winters and son-in-law Dr. Nathan Winters; grandchildren: Seth Walter (wife, Amanda), Joseph Winters (fiancée, Breckan), Anna (Winters) Fischer (husband, Aaron); great grandchildren: Cameron and Caleb Walter; sister: Vicki Lamb and brother-in-law Charlie; sister-in-law, Marilyn Ellis; nieces and nephews: Joshua Ellis, Stephen Young, Charlene Lamb and Lynn (Lamb) McCombs. Predeceased by his son-in-law, Miles Walter; granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Walter; son-in-law, Kirk Patton; sister, Judy Young; brother-in-law, Terry Young and brother-in-law, John Ellis. A service will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Cornerstone Church located at 1675 84th St. SE, Caledonia, MI 49316. Visitation with family starts at 10:00 a.m. Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Lunch reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Faith Hospice of Grand Rapids, MI.
