Stanley Andrew McGuire

Stanley Andrew McGuire, age 96, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully at his home after making his bed and preparing breakfast for the love of his life for 71 years, Lucille, on Friday, September 18, 2020. Stan was born at home in Maidstone Ontario, Canada on July 17, 1924. He was one of eight children. He married Lucille (Trepanier) on July 30, 1949. Stan and Lucillle moved their family to the United States in the early 1960’s. He was a proud teamster and worked for Central Transport for 25 years. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, and of his parish, St. John Vianney.  He loved to garden, cut down trees, and be with his family. He thoroughly enjoyed taking his family to the SJV fish fries. He was preceded in death by his beloved siblings, sisters and brothers-in-law, and countless friends. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 71 years, Lucille; children, Michael McGuire, Patrick McGuire, Deb and Paul Klein, Darlene and Rob Linsley, Tom and Theresa McGuire, Christine and Rob Wait; grandchildren, Aaron McGuire, Matt and Mary McGuire, Molly and Paul Williams, Kelly and Josh Henry, Abby and Brian Petersen, Stacey and Jack Nyenhuis, Amber and Spencer Deneen, Nick and Katie Klein, Shannon and Bob Behnke, Erik Linsley, Elizabeth McGuire, Erin and Andy Woltjer, Katie and Wade Roberts, Mallorie McGuire (Jake West), Karl, Erik, and Michael Heindlmeyer, Charlie Wait, Olivia Wait, Jackson Wait; 24 great grandchildren and one due in February; sister, Helen and Charlie Trepanier; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva Berthiaume, Julie McCann, Helen and Winston Sysiuk, Claire Renaud, George and Angela Trepanier; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Stan was a beloved neighbor and friend to so many and The World’s Greatest Dad, Grandpa, and Papa Rooster. We will miss his kind heart and grateful spirit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 21, 11 am at Saint John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Fr. John Vallier presiding. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 7-9 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming and one hour prior to Mass at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. John Vianney Church or St. John Vianney Education Foundation.
