Barbara Lynn (Blasingame) Raymond, beloved mother to three children, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, leaving a void her family cannot fill.
She was born in Livonia, Michigan, on October 26, 1962, to Bea and Bud Blasingame. She spent most of her childhood with her family in Trumann, Arkansas. While she was the youngest of five, Barbara was the one who was truly in charge. Her vibrant, bold personality shined bright at an early age.
As an adult, Barbara followed her sisters, Joan, Jan, and Sheila from Arkansas to Grand Rapids, Michigan. There she met the love of her life, Bill Raymond. Together they had three loving children, Cailey, Trea, and Taylor. They were her pride and joy.
Barbara worked in Sports Management for 17 years. From organizing PGA golf tournaments to managing ticket sales for the Van Andel Arena, she put her heart into her work. In her later years, Barabara found what truly fed her soul, taking care of her grandchildren. We like to say that Barbara had her Doctorate in Gigi-ology. She loved each one of them with every fiber of her being.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bud and Beatrice Blasingame. She is survived by her husband, Bill Raymond; daughter, Cailey (Zach) Mosher; sons, Trea (Michele) Raymond, Taylor (Giovanna) Raymond; and grandchildren, Max, Beckham, Jackie, Collins, and baby Raymond.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. The burial will take place at Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.
