Sonia Bledsoe

Sonia Bledsoe, age 62, of Grand Haven, formerly of Jenison, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Sonia graduated from Jenison high school in 1981. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and it always seemed like she had a paint brush in hand. Sonia also loved to be outdoors and would spend countless hours at the beach in Grand Haven. More than anything though, Sonia loved to tend to her plants. She had an incredible green thumb, and her garden was her pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Howard and Julia Lawrence, and Albert and Margaret VanKley. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Zachary Bledsoe; parents, Donald and Shirley VanKley; sister, Sherry (Duke) Schut. Per Sonia’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held. A private burial will take place at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Lung Association.
