Simon Aguilar Jr., age 84, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Simon was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He dedicated many years of hard work to providing for his family, first with Kelvinator and later retiring from Steelcase. Known for his strong work ethic and steady presence, Simon took great pride in caring for those he loved.

He also enjoyed relaxing with a cold Bud Light and was affectionately known by his nickname, “Two Beer,” a reflection of his easygoing and fun-loving spirit.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Aguilar; and five of his siblings. Simon will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Irma Garcia; children, Cristina (Roel) Aguilar, S. Miguel Aguilar III, Carlos A. Aguilar; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Aguilar; and many nieces and nephews.
