Shirley M. Scott

Shirley M. Scott, age 85, of Allendale, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 3, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles K. Scott; daughter, Diane Schut; granddaughter, Sandra Bouwman; great-grandson, Brendon Woods. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who cherished her family. Many memories were made together that will be treasured for a lifetime. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mike Scott, Gail and Bob Meekhof, Charlene and Charles Sibley, Randy and Tracy Scott; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandsons, and one great-great granddaughter soon to arrive; her sister, Joyce (Bud - deceased) LaFountain; her sisters-in-law, Pat (Ernest - deceased) Sommerville, Lola (Virgil - deceased) Sommerville; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack Scott, Pauline Scott, Yvonne Howard, Sonya and Don Olds, Dianne Scott, Albert and Linda Scott; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday 11 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 9628 48th Ave., Jenison, with Rev. Tim Verity officiating. Interment Allendale Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 3-7 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale and also on Monday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at church.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Holland.
