Shirley Jean Shippy

Shirley Shippy, age 73, of Wyoming, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, John Phillip; daughters, Jennifer and Brian Kelley of Saranac, MI, Kandie and Michael Bilicki of New Baltimore, MI; grandchildren, Colin and Melanie; Siblings, Duane Jr. and Linda Patterson of Grant, MI, Kim and Jill Patterson of Iron Mountain, MI; brothers-in-law, Kenneth and Julie Shippy of Virginia Beach, VA, Norman and Brenda Shippy of Dorr, MI; sister-in-law, Kathy and Dave Brookins of Ellsworth, MI; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Duane Sr. and Edrie Patterson; and sister, Louise Johnson. Shirley loved making quilts, sewing, going to the beach, gardening, going to concerts, and loved all animals especially her dogs. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, 11am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  The burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 4-7pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW as well as one hour prior to the start of the service from 10-11am. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Alzheimer's Association of Grand Rapids or Optimal Care Hospice.
