Shirley Ann Van Drie

Shirley Van Drie, age 72 of Stony Lake, MI (formerly of Hudsonville, MI) entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Shirley was preceded in death by her dad, Johnnie Beyer; stepdad, Edwin DeKleine; mom, Bernice DeKlein; and sister, Sally Feenstra. Shirley leaves her memory to be cherished by her brother, Jerry Beyer (Marlene); daughters, Mindi Gillet (Lawrence), Michele Segal (Mark), Melanie Nelson (Matt). She also had six grandchildren, Steven Gillet (Heather), Nick Gillet (Krystal), Brent Taylor (Rebecca), Brandon Segal (Maggie), Samantha Blount (Dewey), Makayla Gillet, Vincent Nelson and Anthony Nelson. Adding to the love are her eight great-grandchildren who adored her! She was also very grateful for her bonus children, Chad VanDrie, Brian VanDrie (Kara), Amy Deklyen (Rich), and all of their children and grandchildren. Special thanks to her dear friends Amy Harris DeBartolo and Laura Beckman for their continued love and support. Shirley was born in Zeeland, MI on May 11, 1948 and graduated from Unity Christian High School followed by Tracy School of Cosmetology. Shirley was wonderfully talented with sewing, her hair craft, painting, gardening, piano, singing and so much more! She attended New Era CRC where she was active in the praise team and loved to sing. Shirley will forever be remembered for her selfless love and devotion to her family, friends and clients that is unmatched. Her love and her smile will be greatly missed by more than she could ever imagine. Special thanks to the care team at Faith Hospice of West Michigan. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 60 Port Sheldon SW, Grandville, with Greg Dyk officiating. The livestream can be viewed on the Trinity CRC website. The burial will take place at Vriesland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, February 23, from 7-9 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
