Shirley Ann Hill

Shirley Ann Hill, age 86, of Wyoming, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 19, 2016.  Shirley was a life-long educator who taught in the Byron Center Schools for 20 years, then in the Wyoming Schools for 17 years.  Shirley graduated from Lee High School in 1946 and then went on to Hope College, graduating in 1950 with a degree in education.  In 1968, she earned her Master’s at Western Michigan University.  Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Winifred Hill; and her dear friends and cousins, Ruth Barry Noorman, and Robert Schellenberg Sr.  She is survived by her beloved cat, Pepper, and will be dearly missed by her cousins, Leona Schellenberg, Herman (Cheryl) Schellenberg, Barb (Steven Downing) Breen, Pat (Gary) Papke, Jon (Beverly) Plooster, Dave (Donna) Plooster, Douglas (Elayne) Barry, Thomas (Joan Young) Schellenberg, Nancy (Donald Brightman) Schellenberg, Robert Jr. (Kathleen) Schellenberg, Carol (Mike) Chase, Ruth (Mike) Sprague; many second, third, and fourth cousins; and her dear friends and neighbors, Shirley Sharpe, Joan DeGlopper, Judy and Jim Renberg, and Cindy and Bob Skeba.  Shirley was a member of Faith Reformed Church, in Wyoming, since 1955.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, at 11a.m. at Faith Reformed Church, 618 32nd St. SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Bruce Osbeck officiating.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Thursday, April 21, from 4-8 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Reformed Church.
