Sharon J. Stevens

Sharon Joy (DeKleine) Stevens, age 69, of Wyoming, was peacefully called home to her heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. After a 2021 diagnosis of stage four kidney cancer, Sharon powered through treatments and hospital visits while still enjoying some of her favorite pastimes such as camping, playing dominos, long talks on the phone, and supporting her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, James Stevens; her children, Jim and Nickie Stevens, Tom and Ruby Stevens, and Tammy and Kevin Velding; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her siblings, Kathy Clinton, Delbert DeKleine, and Janice and Keith DeYoung; brothers and sister-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delwyn and Marilyn DeKleine; and her brother, Jim DeKleine. Closing with lyrics from one of her favorite artists: “We keep this love in a photograph, We made these memories for ourselves, Where our eyes are never closing, Hearts are never broken, And time's forever frozen, still.” Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St., Hudsonville, with Keith DeYoung officiating. The burial will take place at Jamestown Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
