Sandra Lee Zeigler (Kooiker), passed away at Trinity Health Hospital, just four days shy of her 75th birthday.
Sandi was born on February 26, 1951, in Grand Rapids to Henry and Jean Kooiker. Next to her faith, family was always her greatest priority. She married her husband, Jerry, in 1974, and together they built a loving home while raising their three children. Her siblings, their families, and her cousins were also a constant source of love and connection throughout her life.
Sandi was a kind and gentle soul who loved to laugh. She was drawn to a mischievous sense of humor and would always join in on the fun, often laughing until she cried. She had many creative hobbies: from cakes to cards to homemade crafts, she liked to share her creations with those she loved.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry; her children, Nicole (Mike Malone), Scott, and Shelli (Amanda) Witherell-Zeigler; her beloved grandchildren, Taytin, Alexis, and Evan; siblings, Greg (Karla) Kooiker, Cheryl Leagon, and LuAnne (Mark) DeWitt; sister-in-law, Laura Taylor; mother-in-law, Madeline Zeigler; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 1 from 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park Ave. SW, Wyoming, and on Monday, March 2 from 10-11 am at Faith Community Christian Reformed Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 am with a luncheon to follow. Flowers are welcome, however please consider a donation to Be A Ruby.
