Sandra Sall

July 4, 1938 ~
January 17, 2022

Sandra (DeJong) Sall, age 83 of Allendale, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, on January 17, 2022.

Sandy was a stay-at-home mom, later worked for 2 local businesses, and then was employed by Grand Valley State University working for Disability Support Services for several years. She loved meeting the needs of the students in her program. She was a member of First Allendale CRC where she was active for 44 years attending Bible studies, serving on prayer teams, and investing her time in GEMS, VBS, and the library. Sandy enjoyed making memories with her children and grandchildren. After she retired, she volunteered at LOVE, Inc. of Allendale and travelled both near and far with her beloved husband.

Sandy will be remembered for her kind, thoughtful, gentle, patient, selflessness, sweet, and humble spirit. She was a prayer warrior for many years for many people. During family gatherings she was the grandma on the floor playing with the grandkids, the grandma staying current with their lives, and the grandma who hugged them coming and going. They were the joy of her life.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Cynthia (Heemstra) DeJong. Sandy is survived by her husband of 44 years, Harlyn Sall; sister, Patty Brink; children, Terry (Kristin) Menning, Todd (Joyce) Menning, Brian Menning, Cindy (Bruce) Driesenga; and stepchildren, Deb (Randy) Willis, Dianne (Gary) Torno, and the late Douglas Sall. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her grandchildren, Nathan, Taylor (Jacob), Dylan, Zach (Molly), Nick (Katie), Kortney (Andrew), Megan (Riley), Kyle, Derek (Michelle), Stacy (TJ), Brandon (Katie), Michael, and Stephanie (Sean).

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, January 25 at First Allendale Christian Reformed Church, 5734 Country View Dr., Allendale with Rev. Gerry Heyboer officiating. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 12:30-1:45 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to LOVE, Inc. of Allendale, Allendale Christian School, or Unity Christian High School.

The family would like to thank the Spectrum Hospice healthcare team and our private in-home aides for the incredible love, compassion and skilled care given to Sandy. They were heaven sent.
