Samuel Josepheus Guthrie

Samuel Josepheus Guthrie, age 82, passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Sam worked his final years at Amazon. He belonged to the Wyoming Seventh-day Adventist Church where he sang with the men’s group and taught several Bible classes. Sam’s love for Jesus was evident in his every endeavor! He was preceded in death by his stepson, Brian Schuurman. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna Guthrie; son, Michael Guthrie of Chicago; daughter, Angela Guthrie of Las Vegas; stepdaughter, Jennifer and her son, Austin; sisters, Betty Kennedy of Ontario, Bleaker Henry of New York; brother, Edward Guthrie of Georgia. Sam is also survived by Donna’s family: Jean Gavin, James Fochtman, Mary Momber, Thomas Fochtman, Dorothy and Ed Alt, Debbie and Paul Minott, Cindy and Jim Monroe. Memorial services will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2580 44th Street SW, Wyoming with Pastor Dan Rachor officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Wyoming Seventh-day Adventist Church.
