Ruth Reginal Overmire

On Friday morning, December 22, 2017 our mother, Ruth Reginal (Hunt) Overmire, 96 years old, was welcomed into our Lord’s arms. She was preceded in her heavenly journey by her husband, John Overmire, Sr. and her daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Overmire. Mom and Dad were married for 50 years and celebrated life together daily. Mom has left 7 children to carry on her mission of love, peace and forgiveness, John Overmire, Jan (Dennis) Wasco, Nancy (James) Miller, Mary (Dan) Richards, Donna, Francine (Douglas) Boone, and Ruth (Ray) Sumon.  Mom loved all of her 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. She has also left behind many nieces and nephews; she loved them as if they were her own children, especially the Battaglia kids! Mom was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, which she loved.  Growing up we remember how active she was in the Rosary Guild and working with the funeral luncheons. Most important, Mom was a woman of FAITH. She prayed constantly and always talked about the love and peace of Jesus Christ. She believed in praying the rosary and believing that God is with us at all times. Mom would want all of us to carry on our lives loving, forgiving and being kind to one another. The celebration of Mom’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 pm Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 1630 Godfrey Ave., Wyoming, with Fr. Stephen Dudek Celebrant.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 11 am - 12 pm at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
