Rozella “Kippy” Kipp

Rozella “Kippy” Kipp, age 106, was born on September 7, 1913, to Mildred and Paul Sperling in Saginaw, Michigan.  She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw. Kippy married Albert Kipp and lived in Detroit, Lansing, and Grand Rapids.  Before her retirement, she was a secretary for the federal government and Lear Siegler. In retirement, she enjoyed her winters in Florida.  Kippy’s hobbies included: typing, correspondence with friends, photography, traveling, bowling, golf, and being part of the Rock Society. Her number one health tip for longevity was to eat local honey and cinnamon.  Kippy had a warm and inviting personality and could instantly make a friend. She touched the lives of many along her journey and was always known to be kind, comforting, and encouraging. Her favorite expression was “attitude is everything”.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Kipp; brother, Burnell “Bud” Sperling; sister-in-law, Alma “Susie” Sperling; nephew, Robert Sperling; and her gentlemen friends, Ken and Ed. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her nephews, Jon (Deon) Sperling, Rodney (Pamela) Sperling; niece, Vicki (Tony) Monterusso; 11 great-nieces and nephews; 12 great-great-nieces and nephews; 2 great-great-great-nephews.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Grandville-Jenison Congregational Church, 3900 Henry St. SW, Grandville, with Luis Saenz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grandville-Jenison Congregational Church or Grandville Senior Neighbors.
