Rosemarie (Goss) Saunders, of Wyoming, MI, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep at age 91. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Albert David; two daughters, Debra Kay Saunders and Beth Marie (Saunders) Gardner; and six older siblings and their spouses, Virginia (Everett) Bazaire, Phyllis (John) Jenkins, Betty (Richard) McGrath, Eileen (Raymond) Feikema, Donna (Melbourne) Cook, and Loris ("Mike") (Arlene) Goss. Rose is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Joel) Whetstone; son, David Allen (Patti Westrate); six grandchildren, Nicole (Miguel) Gardner Morazan, Katie Gardner (Jesse Magnan), Adam (Holly) Saunders, Jeremy (Kate) Saunders, Rebecka (Kolin) Sesselmann, and Bryan (Christina) Saunders; eleven (soon to be 12) beautiful great-grandchildren; several close nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and life-long friend, Amanda Stressman. Rose grew up in Wyoming, Michigan, and spent her entire life there. She attended South High School, and worked at Michigan Bell telephone company until she met her husband and they started their family together. After the passing of her husband, she continued raising her family while working full-time at Meijer as a cashier, retiring after 23 years of exemplary service. Rose loved her job and customers would often wait in line just so that they could come through her lane rather than going through a lane openly available. Rose lived in the same home for 61 years before spending the last three years of her life in an assisted living facility, where she thrived making new friends and attending fun activities. Rose was very social and loved camping, spending many summers in Barryton, Michigan, with Mandi and her camping friends; she loved traveling with family members to Cancun and Florida; she hosted many gatherings at her home for the various holidays, always wanting to bring family together; and she loved to cook and garden and grow her amazing tomato plants. Rose was an avid reader (always a book by her side); she had a great sense of humor; and her compassion and generosity for others was undeniably genuine. She loved to attend the craft shows and garage sales; she loved sitting outside in the sun enjoying the company of whomever stopped by that day; and bless her heart, she loved her Bud Lite. Rose will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Per her request, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 11am, Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville, MI. Burial at a future date Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, September 27, from 5-7pm, MKD Funeral Home (Grandville). An hour of visitation will also be held at 10am prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization that Rose supported, or to one of her local favorite charities, the Santa Claus Girls.
