Ricketson Sr., Ronald W. Ronald W. Ricketson Sr., aged 72, of Byron Center, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 13, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Wendy Mae Charles. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 33 years, Cheryl; children, Ronald Jr., Peter (Denise), Debbra Clark, Andrew (Michelle); step-children, Dale (Rita) Langerhorst, Chris (Vicki) Langerhorst, Kimberly (Lawrence) Grutter; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Glenn Ricketson, Randy (Denise) Ricketson; sister, Judi (Danny) Cieminski; and many nieces and nephews. Ron served in the Michigan National Guard as a supply sergeant and was a member of the American Legion Post #208. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the City of Wyoming and a police reserve officer for the City of Grandville. He was the former president of the A.L.C.A. condo association where he lived. He was a Ham Radio operator. Ron was a very generous man with a big heart, always putting others first. Being very family oriented, he loved spending time with his family. Funeral services for Ron will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Pastor Daniel G. Bos officiating. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday from 10-11 am prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
