Ronald Lee Lynema

Ronald Lee Lynema, age 69, of Grandville, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 after a courageous six month battle with cancer.  He has joined his Heavenly Father and his son, Tim in heaven.  He was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from General Motors.  He loved God and his church, Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, where he was very active until his illness.  He loved his family and his grandchildren.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.  He was preceded in death by his son, Tim Lynema; brother, Gerrit Lynema; sister, Janet Stremler.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marilyn; his children and grandchildren, Brenda and Todd Bystra (Katelyn, Logan); Brent and Bridget Lynema (Austin, Vienna, Jacob, Gabriel, Noah, Levi), Tasha Lynema (Jay, Aaron); sisters and brothers, Hilda Lynema, Bud and Nancy Lynema, Ken and Linda Lynema, George and Marilyn Palinski, Betty Sutton, Ken Stremler; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred and Barb Goorhouse, Ron and Joyce Goorhouse; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 31 at 11 am at Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, 5250 Byron Center SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Roger Groenboom officiating.  Interment Winchester Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, March 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Community Christian Reformed Church Cadets Club or Sportspersons Club.
