After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Bob went on to become the longtime owner of Mel’s Party Store, dedicating 38 years to the business. He was a well-known and respected presence in the Grandville community, serving not only as a business owner but also as a mentor to many young employees over the years.

Bob had a deep passion for coon and rabbit hunting and took great pride in raising several Grand Night World Champion hunting dogs. He also devoted many years to coaching his son’s sports teams, and later generously gave his time as a videographer for the football and basketball programs at Wyoming Park High School.

He will be remembered as a man who meant so much to so many—a devoted family man, a mentor, and a friend to all who knew him.
