Robert   Leatherman

Leatherman, Robert LEATHERMAN:  Robert Harold Leatherman, age 87, of Wyoming, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012.  Our father had three great loves in his life.  First was his family; his loving wife, Maxine (who preceded him in death); his six children, Douglas and Pam Leatherman, Diane and Allan Swensen, David Leatherman (now deceased), Denise and Pat Palma, Dawn and Ron Chapman, Daniel and Kelly Leatherman; 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.  We will always cherish the special memories at our family cottage on Bostwick Lake.  Second was the family business, Leatherman Hardware, that he helped start over 60 years ago.  Our family would like to personally thank the residents and City of Wyoming for their support in the continued success of Leatherman Hardware.  His third love was absolutely the years he served in the Navy.  There was barely a day that would pass that he wouldn’t recall one of his many Navy experiences as a signalman.  That experience influenced the man he became.  We will all miss his unique sense of humor and his sly grin.  Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.  The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Crest Manor in Jenison and Faith Hospice.
