Robert L. Pierce, aged 78, passed away on Saturday, April 2 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol, who joined our Heavenly Father in October 2014 and his brother, Harold Pierce. Bob was a loving and giving husband, father, grandfather, and coach. He spent 20+ years coaching little league and continued enjoying sports through his grandchildren. Bob proudly served in the US Navy. He had a giving soul who would do anything for the people he loved. He is survived by his 5 children Randy, Rob and Carrie, Diane and Dave (Gann), Tom and Felicia, and Ron and Cathy; 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; brother and sisters Gordon and Barbra Pierce, Gerry Willard, Darlene Brown, Delores and Sid Vanderbaan; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Ralph and Barbra Kooistra, Ron and Debra Kooistra; special friends, George and Pat Duimstra, Marge Salamone, Al Vanessen, Arv and countless other friends. A very special thank you to the staff at St. Mary’s Lacks Cancer Center, Faith Hospice, and Tandem 360 for their care and comfort throughout Bob’s entire fight. On Friday, June 17, 2016, at Frontline Bible Church, 8283 Pfeiffer Farms Dr. S.W., Byron Center, MI, the family will greet visitors from 10am – 11:30 am. His Memorial Service, officiated by Pastor John, will begin at 12:00 pm with a celebration of life luncheon immediately following the service.
