
Robert “Bob” K. Motman, age 92, of Grand Rapids, was peacefully called home to the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. Bob was a kind, humble and loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa who cherished his family. Bob proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was the original owner of Motman’s Orchard and Greenhouses. He took pride in his work and was blessed with a strong work ethic. Over the years, he employed many young people at the orchard and greenhouses and took great joy in teaching and influencing them in positive ways. After he retired, he and his wife, Marty, enjoyed wintering in Florida and taking drives enjoying the beauty of the country. Above all, his faith in Jesus was evident to all who knew him. He gave of his time and talents serving his Lord at church in many ways. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Marian Motman; his brother, Ron Motman; and sister, Deloris Smith. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Martha “Marty” Motman; children, Mike and Beth Motman, Dave Motman, Linda and Harvey Kiel; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Vander Bei; sister-in-law, Judy Motman; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 11 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Vern Bareman officiating. Burial Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday, June 27 from 2-5 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice.
