Robert James Lucas

Robert James Lucas, age 86, went to his heavenly home on Monday, December 26, 2022. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of George and Emily Lucas. He grew up on the West Side in the Lithuanian quarter, attended SS. Peter & Paul Catholic School & Church and Catholic Central HS. He served in the U.S. Army. He married his wife Marge in 1957. During their 63 years of marriage, Bob and Marge raised four children, took countless vacations, and made many memories. He worked at JET Electronics/BF Goodrich Aerospace, as an accountant, and made many life-long friends in his 30+ years of service. He also enjoyed participating in golf and bowling leagues, camping trips with family, and watching his kids participate in school events. He adored his grandkids, loved watching them grow, and spoiling them. His sense of humor was loved by all. Dad was the patriarch of the family, and we are lost without him. The family would like to thank Faith Hospice for the loving care they provided dad and the family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Marge) Lucas; brother George (Leona) Lucas. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children Mark (Nan) Lucas, Rob (Kristine) Lucas, Susan Gordon, Maggie (Rob) Barton; grandchildren, Cameron Lucas, Emily (Kevin) Briscoe, Maria Zarbeck; sister-in-law, Yvonne Wilson, and many nieces and nephews. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023.  Family visitation starts at 10: 30a.m. with full mass at 11:00 a.m. at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 6390 Belmont Ave NE., Belmont. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Faith Hospice.
