Robert Hand

Robert Harold Hand, age 92, of Grandville, passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who deeply cherished his family and the many special memories they shared. He spent his 38-year career as a lineman with Consumers Power Company and also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; son, Todd Hand; parents, Harold and Beatrice Hand; and sisters, Eloise Timmer and Lucille Gilbert. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children, Tom and Deb Hand, Dave and Cheryl Hand, Bob and Kristen Hand; daughter-in-law, Diane Hand; grandchildren, Allison Hand, Erin Hand, Kaylee and Zach Faasse, David and Shae Hand, Autumn Hand, Bobby and Karly Hand, Lindsay Hand, Christian and Cassidy Hand; great-grandsons, Bobby, and Cody Hand, Jaden Hand, Max, and Evander Faasse, Paxton Hand; and several nieces and nephews. 

Bob enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid small game hunter throughout his life. He was a country western fan, often listening to country music, reading novels of the Old West, and watching his Westerns on television. He was very passionate about exploring the world around him. Bob and his wife, Mary, enjoyed retirement by traveling abroad with their beloved friend groups. He shared his passion for travel with his entire family. He was always a big “car guy”, owning a variety of sporty models over the years. He even credited his flashy ‘55 Chevy for first attracting the attention of his future bride. Time spent with his family gave him the greatest joy and he will be deeply missed. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday from 10-10:45 am at the funeral home prior to the service.
