Robert Gerrits

Robert Dale Gerrits, age 73, of Walker, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Betty Gerrits; his brother, Roger Gerrits; and his stepson, Eddie Weeks. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Lynn Gerrits; daughter, Rhonda and Scott Johnson; son, Rick and Tammy Gerrits; daughter, Shana and Dan Gladding; stepdaughters, Jody McDaniel, Shannon and Bob Leazier, Heidi and Chris Harrington; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Mick and Gord Brouwer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and John Slegers; brother-in-law, Kevin Heinemann; extended family and friends. Bob retired from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office after 30 years of service. He was a loyal member of the Moose Lodge in Wyoming and he will be missed by his many friends there. Bob enjoyed cheering for the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, November 16, 2020, from 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. A private graveside service will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park.
