Robert Gerald Shomler

Robert “Bob” Gerald Shomler, age 89, of Caledonia, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday, December 29, 2024. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Edna; children, Theresa and Bob Schultz, Rob and Cheryl Shomler, Robin and John Emrich; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He loved spending time with his family and attending his grandkids activities. Bob enjoyed and was privileged tending to the needs of his dear wife, Edna. He enjoyed helping those in need and serving at church wherever he was needed. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday, January 4 at Kentwood Baptist Church, 2875 52nd St. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Larry Fox officiating.  Burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 1-2 pm at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Kentwood Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Carveth Village Assisted Living for the loving care that was provided to Bob.
