Robert Dunn

December 24, 1941 ~
November 15, 2024

Robert Jon Dunn passed away in Brooksville, Florida, on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born December 24, 1941, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to James and Dorothy Dunn. Bob was a man of the road and water, he enjoyed driving a semi-truck for 30 years for ANR/ATL, touring the country on his Gold Wing motorcycle and taking out his boat “Dunn Work’in” fishing for Walleye at Luna Pier or out for a ride on White Lake and Lake Michigan. He loved traveling to the Upper Peninsula to set up deer camp with family members. After he retired from truck driving, Bob started a lawn care business that kept him and family members busy cutting grass in the summer but never too busy to go fishing. For Bob it was always about the journey and the people he spent time with, never the destination – that was his greatest joy.  He would often say to his grandchildren, “Love you a whole bushel basket full” and he would sing to them, “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You”. He had strong faith and we now take comfort knowing that he is now in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior. He leaves behind to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life – his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Tim Zeitter; grandchildren, Leah and Joe Fox, Michelle and Joel Eggers, Meghan and Cody Kremers; great-grandchildren, Lilyana, Scarlett and Monroe Fox, Reyna and Melody Eggers; siblings, Jim Dunn, Dorothy and Bob Goorhouse, sister-in-law, Arlene Dunn; many nieces and nephews; and his dear friend, Therese Ruskey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Stuart Dunn; and sister-in-law, Fran Dunn, A special thanks to the Sturgill Hospice team in Florida for their care and kindness. A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 11 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family invites you to join them for a luncheon following the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the hospice of their choosing.
